Sorry forgot to add...
Should you complain? Absolutely. Will it get you anywhere? Absolutely not. Police look after their own.

without anyone willing to do anything about it the UK is turning into a fascist state
Too true, some of the legislations that the government have brought in are ludicrous, taking away our liberties much?

Pants On Fire - if you're still there? I've looked for your email address to give you a shout direct, but no luck. Like you, I am 49. I am an Inspector in the Police, not I think in your force area. Please report this incident. Phone the police and explain politely that you'd like to make a 'complaint against police' and ask them to send a supervisory officer out to see you. If it was one of my staff, I would certainly want to know. There might be reasons why they couldn't tell you what was going on, but they could have been polite, certainly doesn't sound like they were pressed for time.
Also it is a total and utter myth that you will then be 'targeted' by the Police - it just does not happen, there is no way for it to happen, and anyone who tried to make it happen would only by in big problems themselves.
Over to you.Posted 3 years ago # -
can you believe they still cannot do random drug tests in the police? they have to have with cause!!!!
Honestly, you're having a laugh?!?!
I know of many companies out there that have legitimately introduced random compulsory drug tests. IMO it should be that way for the coppers, say one a year scheduled, and up to 3 others at any point in the year that can be conducted randomly (so as to make sure people aren't just avoiding using when they know there is one around the corner).
Takes the piss that they can't test a copper "without cause" if you ask me.

i've said it before and i'll say it again.

Wrong, insulting to anyone who has had to live in a fascist state, just plain stupid indeed. read some history.
For all of those kicking off about cops get real. ( not passing any judgement on the OPs complaint)
Cops are human beings just like any others. I have worked with cops and seen the abuse they have to put up with. for sure there are some bads ones but they on the whole are far better than they used to be and much fairer than the perception some of you have.
How on earth do you think our society could survive without cops? Who cleans up the metaphorical shit? You cop haters so live in a little false world - I bet the reason you have such a poor opinion of cops is because you got lippy when drunk and talked your way into being arrested.

I've always found them to be very professional and probably deal with them more regular than most on here, like all professions you will always get the odd fool. One bit of advice I give clients who start giving us or Police abuse on scene is to stop as the Police tend not to take it too well.
Was it such a ball ache to do what they asked they must have had a reason to stop people going through.

No it wouldn't - but read the f***ing post and you might understand that the f***ing problem was the f***ing attitude not the fact that the police has closed the f***ing road.Posted 3 years ago # -
It would be unfair to say that my experiences with the police have been universally terrible, however, the bad outweigh the good. In fact the terrible outweigh the bad and each dealing seems to get progressively worse.
There was a time when, despite much evidence to the contrary I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Now, if at all possible I will avoid dealing with the police completely. Could go into plenty of specifics but can't be bothered.

being a copper sounds rubbish. my uncle were in CID and he'd spend months working on a case, only for the felon to get off on a technicality, even though everyone knew it woz im wot dun it guv.
he's got an amazing pension, mind you.

How ironic, it would seem someone else has a bit of an attitude.

crikey I thought I had a low opinion of the police, some of the remarks on here !
What I can't understand is why ex-army officer Mr. pantsonfire didn't give the plebeian policeman a dose of what for ???

Having briefly glanced at the posts in this thread:
It's just society in general [:(]
Sums it up quite nicely. Think of the sh*t the police have to deal with, we have become incredibly rude as a society and since the police are made up from members of the same society isn't it any wonder when a few of them don't follow what they are trained to do?
Posted 3 years ago # -
There is no excuse for this police behaviour, regardless of the $hit they have to deal with. This 'few bad apples' attitude is all wrong, think of the number of teachers out there who put up with physical and verbal abuse, yet they don't resort to swearing at the pupils (any more), if they had we'd have bloody well heard about it you can be sure. They know damn well that they will not be allowed to get away with it. It's time the police started to think the same way.

El-bent good point remade on the society thing, bobbies are just a reflection of the rest of us, scarey isn't it. You should note also that the policwe are not trained the way they used to be and it shows.

Drac,

I assume you meant where did I quote you - Top of P3 of this thread. Just in case you are in any doubt my post was intentionally "ironic" to draw attention to the fact that its not what you are asked to do - but how you are asked that matters.

Ah! Sorry some how misread the post as being from the OP. How silly do I feel.
