I’ve never had any problems getting new tyres to seal tubeless using a track pump on 3 sets of 29er Crest rims.
I’m not a serial tyre swapper at all, but after swapping about a bit recently I now have at least 3 previously used tyres that just won’t go up, not just loose but almost baggy. I’m starting to get a phobia of removing any others that are currently sealed and running fine. 🙁
The offending tyres are a Maxxis Ikon, Schwalbe Racing Ralph and an On One Chunky Monkey. The only tyre that has refitted easily was a Bonty MudX.
Using innertubes to get the bead in one side isn’t really an option as most of the tyres have been used tubeless for a while so are full of sealed-up thorns.
I never had to make a pop-bottle compressor before but now considering it if the STW hivemind thinks more air faster is the solution.
Is this a known problem that I’m only just learning about? Ideas? 😕
