  • Why are 36H rims so hard to find??

Picked up some hubs of eBay over the weekend, didn't click with me till now that they were 36H… I wanted to build them up with Stans Crest rims, but they only come in 32H? And now looking around on CRC, most rims are 32H, there seems to be a distinct lack of 36H versions?

Can anyone recommend a good, strong, light and tubeless 36H rim. Price not hugely an issue (though can't stretch to carbon! Not that these come in 36H anyway 🙄 ).

    cheers 🙂

    Try here: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/category-Rims–26-(559)-MTB-Standard-169.htm
They list a few 36H rims, and as a touring specialist they're likely to have some in stock.

We've got some 36h Alex Rims SX44 in white. They were sent in error, and don't really know what to do with them. They're around 500grms, and can be tubelesserised using any of the kits. They're more AM than XC, but yours for a good price if you want them. Email me if you're interested.

thanks for the suggestion cy, would prefer black rims though…

Anyone know of 36H UST rims that fit my bill of strong & light(ish)?

My LBS always builds my 26" wheels on these – the 36H version. I am a 15 stone monster and have only ever managed to bend one and that was with a car rear ending me at 30mph.

I have killed a few with rim brakes on the commuter tho.

Although I think I only paid £25 ish for the rim as part of a build from Wheelcraft – 01360 312709.
