    No real reason other than one of my bikes has always been that way,not better or worse than 9 speed imo.
    10 speed = gimmick for the muppets

    My 456 has 8 speed XTR shifters which have been doing sterling service on several different builds since way back in the last millenium. Why would I want to change them 🙂

    still run 8 speed on a bike. See no need for change other than chains becoming a bit harder to source.
