I like your chain tensioning idea, though – I should’ve done that, saved a lot of messing about.

The “ghost” chain rings work a treat. Or they did until we go a bit of chain stretch and the big one kept falling out. After we rode over it puncturing the rear wheel we welded a rear mech to the frame. Everything for the bike came from skips.

I was trying to work out how you tensioned your chains. Lots of adjustments with EBBs I presume?

No, they’re BB-mounted chain guides – with an arm clamped behind the BB cup, and a pulley wheel.

My rat cruiser is over 8′ long. Sorry no pics as it’s currently disassembled.
