  • Who makes 15QR forks, and can I swap older Vanilla lowers for newer ones?

    I just snagged a Giant Trance in the classifieds, and it has 32 Vanillas. I'm a big fella so coil is good, but I'd like 15QR for a bit of extra stiffness. Can I just fit current Vanilla 15QR lowers?

    Also, apart from Fox and DT, who's making forks with 15QR? I'm gonna go ahead and guess not Rockshox.

    Fox, DT Swiss and Marzocchi use QR15 on 120-150mm forks (20mm on 160mm+ (except DT))
    Rocshox, Manitou, etc only use 'QR20' for bolt-thry

    Yes you can get QR15 lowers for fox, though I think they have to be 2007 onwards (32mm stantions)? Pre 2007 I think are 30mm stantions

    Something like just over £100 + the service to take them apart/put back together/top up oil etc ..

    yes they are basically the same fork, mine are 2002 😀
