I am building up a frame I got cheap and wondered what rear brake you used? Any chance of a pic? I ask becuase I can’t use the brake hose fittings on the frame with my guide brake and wondered what others have done. Thanks

I built up one recently using a pair of Formula Oro K24s that refuse to die, these have the banjo connection at the calliper that allows you to get the line of the hose right from the brake. I loosened the banjo connecting bolt very slightly and rotated the hose around to get the routing that can be seen on the ritchey site here

Yep, you should have the same option on the Guides?

All Hope brakes would work in the same way.

XT M8000, I just skipped the last hose guide.

You’d be rogered with Deores, the hose comes straight out with no banjo.

Fine with a Guide though, as per Carbis and t’others.

@ Poopscoop, nope, the guide on mine is a straight fitting, no banjo. Anyone know if I could add a banjo?

otsdr, thanks for the pic, That’s what I needed to see.

Currently the hose is cable tied to the chain stay and up the down tube.

From what I see, Guides have a banjo in both versions of the caliper.

Ok, it is not a real “banjo”, but it still separate from the body and can be rotated.
