The Player, The Age of Innocence (yes, there are some real stinkers in there, but Paul McGann’s CV is not much better.)

    Albert Finney

+ 1 for Paddy Considine, but a mention must go to his supporting actor in Dead Mans Shoes – Toby Kebbel.

    Always liked Robert Carlyle too.

I loved Life on Mars and The Lakes, but he appears to take himself far too seriously.

    Miranda Richardson

    David Thewlis

and yes, Ronnie Barker is a great call – watch Porridge all over again, the timing and the empathy you feel for the character, the pathos between the gags is beautiful

Ronnie Barker’s a good shout when you consider the stuff he’s been in. He crops up in a lot of old films, too.

    Dear old Dickie Attenborough.

    David Hayman.

    John Simm.

    Christopher Ecclestone.

    Emily Watson.

    Judi Dench.

    Andy Serkis.

All the teachers in the Harry Potter films – it’s like a who’s who.
