Heading up to The Lakes on Friday for a couple of days & aiming to do Whinlatter on Fri or Sat.

Any locals or recent visitors who can advise on conditions up there?

(Pretty wet I’d imagine, but do the trails hold up well enough?)

    It’s always wet.

Shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve been there in the thick of a snow storm a few times and still loved it.

Yep – damp as normal. There’s a land slide down the bottom end of Seldom Seen but if you’re sticking to the waymarked loops, you won’t head that way. Also, the annual Christian convention kicked off this week so it’s extra-busy in town at the moment 😥

    😆

Last time I was there was end of June 2010.

Hot, sunny, gentle breeze, blue skies … trails were dry as a dry thing.

Was up there a couple of weekends back. I think it’s more fun when it’s a bit damp.

Really enjoyed the North Descent from the top, a few slippy roots here and there to keep you on your toes, and they have done a bit of work to reduce the rather large braking bumps that had formed. So holding up well.
