Beavers as above. My pair of two inchers were less than £45 for a pair when I got them.

Looking at the Beavers myself, are they good both front and back?

Go and find some mud then come back and let us know?

FWIW I was happy on all-rounders on my 29er last winter.

Stick with the purgatory on the back and get a butcher for the front. Worked well in Surrey mud earlier this year for me.

I happily ran a set (29er), though had a 2.25 up front and 2.0 on the rear. Did a good job of wearing out the rear one, so assume there reasonably soft compound as previous used Mud-x normally last longer (good thing.. more grip!).

@ varioflex.. I ditched the Butcher after 1 wet ride ( two otb faceplants ) @ Aston hill. The TR DC Ardent is much better.

    @ z1ppy…Beaver front, mud x rear then?

Head over to On One and get some Chunky Monkeys for £20 each. Heavy but arguably as good as the Nobby Nics they replaced…

As above using a pair of beavers here. Decent and cheap.

And beaver is another word for fanny innit so they’re a right laugh.

Tymbian, nah I’ll be sticking with the beavers, as I like the 2.25 size as a more ‘all-rounder’ winter tyre. Will try to wear out the 2.0 a bit more then get another 2.25

Whatever on-one happen to be selling off for peanuts usually suits me perfectly 🙂
