Sorry to post this in August, but can anyone offer any opinions on reasonably priced winter road frames with mudguard clearance and eyes, preferably with carbon forks?
I'm thinking of the Kinesis Racelite T2 or the Dolan winter frame - I have an aversion to Ribble due to them being a bunch of idiots with appalling levels of customer service.

I've just bought a Kinesis Crosslight 5T frame and their Pure CX Forks for winter riding. £345 delivered from Winstanleys (delivery due any second now......) Went for that as even though it's a CX bike it'll be better than my current road bike and it'll let me race CX too. Planning to get a new proper road bike in the spring to go with it.
+1 for the Kinesis Racelite - although they come up quite large & you'll need long drop front brake

Dolan look nice, consider their cross frame if you want racks, clearance, etc, etc

Dolan are selling some of the winter frames cheap on ebay... God I wish I was 6'7"!!!
Genesis Equilibrium, or Aether if you want Alu and cheaper.
Long drop brakes required. Room for mudguards and 25mm tyres(maybe more, but I run 25s)
Sat here staring at my Tk2,its done a few sportives and got me most of my 4th cat points this season....not too bad for a 'winter' bike.

Thought it was about time I had at least one bike which could take mudguards and a rack so have ordered one. I am ancient though, so confident it will suit me!

Tifosi CK3, cheap but less forks. Though very nice in the flesh.

I'd also consider Hewitt's especially if you are local.
If you want to take a page out of my book of spunking money, retire a fairly knacked Bob Jackson 531 and get an Enigma Etape as a 'winter hack'
I'd have preferred a horizontal top tube and conventional headset but a custom build would have been 4 months and I'm an impatient burgger

I was going to see Ribble but you answered your own question. I have a Ribble, lovely bike, but yes; crap service.
The Dribbles are only available in 'doom blue' as well, even the black looked better than that awful colour!
I'm humming and hawing about clicking 'buy' on a Racelight T2 with Kinesis carbon forks for about £310...
Any other suggestions? That Genesis Equilibrium looks lovely but it's starting to get expensive when you add forks...

Can any of the Kinesis owners offer me any advice on sizing? I'm 6'1" tall, so according to the sizing chart on the website, I'm on a 60cm frame. I don't like frames that are too big though, so any feedback from similar sized riders would be appreciated.

So that you can run full mudguards, maybe a slightly wider tyres & lower gearing and to save wrecking your lovely light, fast summer road bike.
What Simon said. Mudguards mainly for me. Race bikes don't have enough clearance. Dedicated winter bikes have clearance, brazed-on eyes and less toe overlap etc.
I use a Ribble Audax/Winter frame, think it cost me about £120 and I built it up with bits from the spares bin at work.
It's perfect for hammering up and down the A30, mudguards doing their thing.
Also actually seems like a pretty well made frame, nothing fancy, just a solid piece of machinery.

They're "doom blue" though...
Doom blue isn't too bad in the flesh. The white stickers are a bit shite though.
If they still did the black ones, I might be tempted... But not Dooooom Blue. They look cheap. I know they ARE cheap, but there's really no need to look it!
