Natural riding, have a second wheelset which I’ll have trailrakers on for when it’s really cacky. Was thinking Crossmarks but I think they’re more suited for the summer. Ardent, advantage, ignitor???? Any suggestions welcome,

I’ve just put a 2.1 Ignitor on the rear after my summer Larsen started slipping due to the onset of muddyness!
Very impressed with it so far.

Try having a look in the Maxxis tyre catologue, has a diagram of tyres intended use.

FWIW they seem to suggest the following as ‘all round’ tyres, including the wet:

    Ardent
    High Roller

    and to a lesser extent

    Advantage
    Minion DHF

Or a Swampthing for more of a mud tyre.

Would be an Ignitor for me, I’m running a High Roller up front and an Ignitor on the rear, superb combo….got Crossmarks on my HT and they are definitley not a winter tyre

The eskar was designed by an ex maxxis designer (Chris Wyatt).
It also comes with your choice of 3 levels of sidewall toughness.
Plus it’s a fair bit cheaper than maxxis lust tyres.

Fair point. I’ve asked for Maxxis because I can get them cheaper, but not spesh stuff.

I’ve an Ignitor on the back at the minute, it grips alright in loose stuff. Other than that you’re looking at Medusas or Swampthings.

Ignitor sounds promising then, cheers all
