  • Which tubeless kit for converting DT swiss EX 5.1D rims?

Going to bite the bullet and go tubeless. Ive got Dt 5.1EX rims and will be fitting a pair of Conty Rubber Queen 2.2 black chilli UST tyres. Anyone running this set-up? Confused as to which tubeless kit to go for. Ive heard the Hope one for Stans rims is good and can be used on other rims, and only cost £20. Bit advice would be appreciated. Thanks

the cheapest (excluding ghetto and electrical tape :-)) is a roll of stans 25mm tape £13 (enough for 4 to five wheels) , couple of valves £6 each and a bottle stan fluid. Though you may need compressed air to get the tyres on.

I’ve a pair of 5.1’s and just used a standard Stans kit – works well and has done for years.

If you use the official DT kit make sure you never use UST bead tyres!!

    You’ll never get them off

Sorry, standard as in standard rim strips.

I have a set of DT strips for 5.1 rims with the valves and stuff. You just need to get the spooge. Probably looking for about 12 quid posted. Still have one of the boxes and instructions I think.
