Need to buy a new sleeping bag. It'll be used from the end of April / start of May through to maybe October at the latest. Figure that means it needs to be comfortable down to 5 degrees or so. I've got a lightweight down one already, and want to get hold of a light synthetic which doesn't mind if it gets a bit damp.
I've narrowed it down to either a snug pack one or a highlander job. Anyone had any experience of the following? Needs to be 1kg max with the cheaper the better… at the moment i'm leaning towards the highlander but can't find any reviews.
Highlander Softshell Pac-TEC 1 (comfort from -5 to 15) http://www.highlander-outdoor.com/partnumber.asp?cid=29641&pnid=302132
Snugpack Tactical 2 (Comfort 0 degrees) http://www.snugpak.com/index.php?MenuID=93-107&ItemID=77
Snugpak travelpak extreme (comfort 2 degrees) http://www.snugpak.com/index.php?MenuID=114-119&ItemID=152
Snugpack softie 3 Merlin (Comfort 0 degrees) http://www.snugpak.com/index.php?MenuID=93-107&ItemID=14
Particularly interested if the temp ratings are vaguely accurate – i've heard that he highlander ones are but the snugpack ones are optimistic. I'll be using it in an army gortex bivi bag for ultralightweight hiking trips.
