  • Which single-unit PC speaker?

Need a new sound-making box to sit on my desktop and I’m not keen on having multiple speaker units.

Casual browsing seems to turn up either suspiciously cheap devices or way-too-expensive ones.

I was thinking £40 or £50, hopefully on offer.

    Any recommendations?

    TIA.

All I can say is that budget Logitech and Roland/Edirol gear have both surprised me.

The budget 2.1 Logitech set is usually pretty musical, and the speakers are tiny. The box goes somewhere under the desk.

I have never used a soundbar etc.

That’s good to know thanks, Logitech stuff seems to crop up a lot.

I’ve got my laptop plugged into this. OK so it’s not “stereo” but it’s fairly loud and a nice bit of bass. Plus it takes batteries and is decent for outside.
