    For me its the wheelbarrow.
But moving on to modern times, what simplistic ‘inventions’ make you marvel at there simplicity, & make you think ‘why did no one else think of that!’*

*Those things on the end of shoe laces spring to mind.

    Over to you.

Those soft-close drawers you get in kitchens. My parents threatened me with death if I dared to take one apart to find out how it worked last time I visited.

    the most basic things,
how did people know how to make bread,
i was thinking this when i was making mayonnaise, adding lots of oil slowly to egg, how did they know to add it slowly otherwise it would split,

    i scratch my head

    not exactly technology 😀

Jedi, have you read about how Velcro was invented, fascinating!
Flaperon, I’m with you, I would love to know how they work (rushes off to google), now that is the sort of modern invention I was envisaging.

    Cheers.

I just asked 118 118 how soft closure draws work (for fun), got a text back saying that…

‘kitchen cabinets are the built-in furniture used for storage of food, cooking equipment, and often silverware and dishes for table service.thx!’

Phoned them back complaining that it didn’t answer the question, & after a few minute got given a customer complaint number, hmmm, thats my morning sorted tomorrow then 😉
