After another sram failure 3 mechs in 6 months going back to Shimano and looking at XT which shifters do I need ispec bspec or something else to mount with the brakes?

You need a standard clamp on shifter and you’ll have to run your remote on the other side (most likely)

Not easily, for some combos I know it’s possible, although not easy to machine an adapter to get it to work, but otherwise it’s got to be shimano/shimano or sram/sram (or hope/shimano with some) to use the same claps for both.
