Following on from my front caliper question, am I limited to shimano rotors with their calipers or can I use others (6 bolt)?

I’ve used both Formula and hope floating quite happily.

Any as long as the diameter is right…. even that you can get away with a little change in dia like a 183 instead of a 180, but its better to have the right ones.

Hope/Aztec(though i did get vibrations though i think that was more to do with my frame)/and unex ones from ebay all work fine. In fact i haven’t tried the shimano ones with them.

    Formula and Avid 160mm here.

    Hope 180mm too (non-floating).

The bolt/rivit things on a 180 Hope floating rotor rubbed against the caliper of my xt brakes. it was the edge of the bolt tabs that rubbed, it may be possible to space this out or fudge it somehow but I just swapped to a normal rotor.
