  • Which mobile phone..?

Evening all, I’m looking for a mobile to put a PAYG sim in and chuck in my back pack for when I’m out riding and hill walking. Doesn’t need to have any pish like Facebook, Strava or mapping on it, just a phone for making calls/texts in an emergency and such like.

Been looking at the Samsung B2100 as it claims to be shock proof, dust/dirt proof and water proof, all ideal. It also has a handy torch function, although that’s just handy, not essential.

Are there any phones people on here use or would recommend/not recommend?

    Many thanks 🙂

I used a B2100 for two and a half years, always took it out riding but never used a bag or any protection and found it completely reliable. The design has been around for a while now, so it is proven. To me, a mobile phone is safety equipment, so I don’t want anything delicate.

Its been covered in mud, dropped in puddles and even rode over and still going strong.
