Just ordered a new Ghost HTX actinum 7500 mountain bike and haven’t had a mountain bike for years!

Which lubricants do you more up to date riders recommend? By choice I’ll mainly be riding in dryish weather.

Putoline chain wax for chains, basic grease for bearings, ( but don’t open sealed ones up) GT85 for cables, any fork oil for forks

all controversial choices however but works for me over thousands of miles a year

As per TJ, although I’d opt for 90 weight gear oil for chain lube, or a spray on non o-ring motorcycle chain lube, and the recommended fork oil for you forks (mine specifically say it should be synthetic and to avoid any with seal swelling additives).

Squirt for the chain

Finish line wet lube for most things, castrol grease for bearings – definitely open up new ones before installation.

Despite what many say, I don’t think what you use is that crucial.
