birthday coming up and i feel a need to do some more night riding this year and maybe a few 24 hour events next year so i’m after some new lights.

My initial inclination is for a Ray 3a (http://www.liteoption.com/), i’ve had a Ray1a for years and the batteries are compatible (giving a monstrous run time as they are twice the size)

what else is there in that price bracket? helmet mounted, Deer startling long running shinyness is what i’m after

i don’t want cheapo Chinese dealextreme etc.

    Four4th worth a look.

Four4th.co.uk I think. 1200 lumens, very compact, can option long life batteries.

Mega lights from Troutie and Luminous are nearer £300.
