Thinking of signing up to the ride to work scheme. The most you can get is £1000, so with that price in mind: What Hardtail should I get for £1000?

Nice geometry – Joe Murray design. Can use for singlespeed if required and a form of Reba forks.

Recently received my 456 Summer Season bought on cycle to work, had to stump up £100 for it but very happy so far with it.

What for? The Boardman HT Pro is excellent but it’s a XC bike, not as racy as some but it’s still not the easiest ride on bigger rougher downhills.

Agree with turnerguy, plus they are going down to £650 soon iirc

At £650 it’s a steal (and steel) bike and you might be able to arrange some upgrades – like the forks to Reba teams.

Cube Ltd Team/Race/Pro depending on rrp this year and ‘flexibility’ of the shop.
