  • Which entry level bike for about £300?

My mum wants a bike for about £300. Would look at secondhand but she’s only 4’11¾” and there’s not a lot around for that sort of size. Would be looking at a MTB or hybrid, nothing with drop bars, it’ll mostly be used on the road but there are some easy off road options nearby she might try. Evans has a good selection and there’s one nearby but I’m not that familiar with some of the brands like Fuji and Norco so really looking for some thoughts on the bikes Evans have or if anyone has seen any bargains.

Norco is a really good brand.

These look like really good options.

EDIT the 29er is probably too big…

Looks like the smallest Carrera is 16″ which would be too big. The Rockrider 500 from Decathlon looks a good deal and we have a store nearby.

Given her size is more that of a larger kid have you considered one of the larger sized Islabikes ? The Beinn looks to tick a lot.of boxes.Simple gearing, rigid forks, light and adaptable.
