I’m in the process of moving house and my new commute is going to be 16 miles each way.
I’m looking for a new commuter bike to use for it but I’m not sure what to go for, currently looking for something with:

    Drop bar
    Hydraulic disc brakes
Takes tyres up to at least 32mm
Full guards with the 32mm+ tyres
    Budget of £1000

I’d prefer something that I can get on the cycle to work scheme but I’m struggling to find anything that fits the bill at the moment.
If I can’t get cycle to work than I’d be looking at something around the £1k mark.

    Any suggestions?

Whatever Pinnacle Arkose fits your budget / takes your fancy.

I’d have the Alfine if I had a grand to play with personally.

… only problem is the Cube Mudguards aren’t available at the moment though I think i read somewhere they are due on sale again soon.

Or have a look at the Whyte outlet on ebay. They take offers, you might get this for 1k and it’s full carbon?

Boardman CX Team or Pinnacle Arkose. I have both as commuters, one summer/dry days and one full on wet weather commuter.

    Both great bikes.

I’d second the arkose 2, Tiagra so cheap(er) chains and cassettes, plus all the rest.

Stupidly its £1025, don’t know what the pricing people were thinking with it being a perfect CTW bike otherwise.

Just been looking in to it and it turns out that our wonderful cycle to work scheme can’t be used at Evans!
That Akrose was looking pretty good as well.
