I’m wanting to buy some new chain tools for our workshop. The new Parktool CT 4.3 are an absolute joke, so I wonder if anyone can recommend better. Pedro?

Rohloff. Nothing else comes close in performance – or price.

The wooden-handled Shimano is also good, as is the folding park (CT-3?).

    Am impressed with this: http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/TOJWPTR/jobsworth-pro-chain-remover

I’ve been known break a few brand new ones.

Thanks for these. I’ll check em out. We get through tools like no other bike workshop as we have so many learners using them. The Park chain tools are breaking pins every day. I thought the new ones would be better, but they are worse!

I’ve got an Icetoolz one that seems pretty solid. It’s chopped plenty of 9, 10 and 11 speed chains, with the pin intact, and there are 2 spares stored in the handle.

I spoke with the Park Tool rep today. Apparently, the CT4.3 is aimed at more expensive 9/10 chains. He’s going to send me out more general use tool today for us to check out. We’ll see how this one fairs.
