It looks like this: (12 splines btw)

Its off a really low end ageing trek with other suntour/shimano bits so the hub could be too?

I know this doesn't fit so I'm guessing its one of these?
Perhaps you know which ones also don't fit?

It's not a cassette, it's a freewheel. You'll need a Shimano TL-FW30 frewwheel removal tool to get it off.

this one then to get the freehub off?

How do I get the casette off then? Does the casette slide off the back of the removed freehub?

    James,

As simondbarnes says, it isn't a cassette, it is a freewheel, there is no freehub on the wheel, it is all one hole unit. When you take it of there is just a screw thread on the wheel, about 1cm deep, that the whole Freewheel screws onto.
And yep, its the TL-FW30 tool

So the sprockets are part of the freehub then?

Yep, You cant get the sprockets off individually, its a whole new freewheel if they need replacing.
