    Holiday in Cambodia- Dead Kennedys

    ’79 IIRC

for every Heart, Wham or Pet Shop Boys, there was a New Model Army, Sisters Of Mercy, The Cult. So not all bad 😉
But The Clash had moved on my then, IMO – their best stuff was up to & including London Calling, in ’79

Ah, Holiday in Cambodia was released in 1980 John Drummer. I’m not a pedant, honest.

Totally agree with you about The Clash. They were great until the 80’s, plus, the best album by a clear mile is ‘Give em Enough Rope’, even if the critics disagree.

    😉

Totally agree with Van Halen epitomising the 80s… everything that was crap about the 80s.

Love this thread! I have always maintained that I hated 80s music, but it’s actually quite diverse and pretty awesome in places.

Reluctant – wasn’t the 1978 release a German only thing. The release I refer to was the 1981 release as a B-side in the UK.

Jebus, Can’t believe its got this far without mention, so given TJ’s self imposed semi-exile, I’ll throw this one down in his honour 😉

If you want a retort for that, it wasn’t just Joe Dolce. John Lennon was #1 (with, uh, Imagine I think) for the first week it was at #2.
