Fancying a new bike – c/o Bike to Work and was wondering what folk rate for the larger gentleman (6 ft 4, 16.5 st) about the hills. Thinking 29er (with gears) as there tends to be an hour each way on the road.

Have an unfortunate tendency to bend and break things. Stronger is better for me.

What're the STW folk running and riding please that's good, strong and a bit light?

    Thanking you

Gary Fisher do some good larger frame 29ers, they're doing 23" on some of them now. Not sure if you're after full sus or HT but guess HT to keep in budget for cycle scheme. The rims are wider than standard to stiffen the wheels up and they're pretty sturdya oversize frames with a lifetime warranty too.
