The more adjustments you have the better so long as you use them to adjust the fork for your riding (and then leave it there). If you just leave them all in the middle the at best you’ve wasted your money.
I have old blue RC2 Fox 36’s on one bike that are awesome. I love those forks to bits. I have less old but still really not new 32RLC’s on my Soul and like them. I’m putting Revs on my FS this year and don’t expect a problem with them. I loved my Reba’s on my old Inbred. I’m quite light at 72-75 kg rider weight.
The only forks I’ve had stanchion issues with are a set of old Pikes that bound in the bushing when left unridden and unclean for months. Not really their fault.
Make sure you get a 20mm version of the Rev if you’re going that way. A powerbulge set is a good thing (effectively reinforced lowers). Think carefully if you want a poplock or dual position. If you won’t use it, but one without. Dual air, rebound and compression would be my choice. Consider leaving space for a service in your budget unless you’re totally happy with the seller…
