Yup, proper broken. It suggested Peterborough to me, which is about as far from a place I want to live in as I can think.
Apart from the lack of a vibrant social culture, the lack of hills and rocks, and the absence of any ‘identity’, what’s wrong with P-town?
To be fair (and as a pretty much born and bred Peterborian), it’s quite a green city (in both senses) and has decent infrastructure (one of the best traffic systems I’ve driven in – admittedly not much of a selling point!). The old parts of the city centre are quite cool architecturally (the cathedral doesn’t get the exposure it deserves) and if you’re happy with road riding or old-school XC bridleway bashing (and don’t mind the wind) then the cycling’s not bad.
