Wasn’t it supposed to hit our shores (UK and Ireland) between Christmas and 1st Jan with the worst snowy winter in 50 years or something like that? Temps look set to be in double figures tomorrow, so can’t see it getting below freezing any time soon! Did someone scare it off? 😀

Do you actually believe the Daily Fail? 🙄

it’s gonna be quite breezy later on, will that do for a vortex for now ?

I believe it’s the Express that really specialises in snowmageddon headlines – unless the polar vortex is to do with inuit immigration 😀

Nope…a couple of the green crayon brigade were banging on about very cold weather, and they got some tabloid coverage, but no proper weather forecasters were forecasting cold Arctic like conditions across uk.

Quite windy in the north of uk Fri/sat mind…and maybe a risk of some North Sea flooding action this weekend. There likely will be some snow around sat sun too, esp For Scots and perhaps NI but it doesn’t look like being outrageously cold.

I think he’s confusing the polar vortex with the Pole influx.

Polar vortex is currently having a holiday in Canada and the Western US apparently.

I’m sure there were a lot more people than the daily fail talking about it.

IIRC it was, in fact, the Daily Express.

They get their reports from Exacta Weather. Who specialise in dramatic forecasts that rarely come true. They always claim masses of snow is on the way and report how accurate they are when the far northwest of Scotland get an inch of snow.

Been out for a ride. I can confirm it’s ‘fairly breezy’.
