Couple of us are heading down to Afan for the Nov 13/14th weekend. Any recommendations on places to stay, either b&b, bunkhouse or camping.

    Cheers

    Log cabins?
Right on the wall trail and next to the new 4X track. Been promising this to myself for a while.

Afan lodge is nice but we stayed a Saturday night in May – £65 for a twin room B&B but last week, on a Monday they wanted £100 for the same room !

    Nice place, nice people
all the usual bike storage/washing facilities
    It’s 100m from the trails & 500m from a decent pub

    I can’t think of a downside

Agree on all the above, as has been said often!

+ 1 for queens guest house I’ve been there a few times.
Stayed at the green lanterns last weekend though – it’s at the other end near the wall – nice place and the bonus of a steak restaurant and bar onsite!

I wouldn’t say that – the food we had last week was great & the portions were fine.

Bridgend pencoed travelodge, restuarant/pub next door. Next junction down m4 is big sainsburys for brekkie, £29 a double room or could fit 3 if you don’t mind sharing a double bed.

We use it every time we do afan.
