I've been waiting for a wheel biuld since end of December because, I'm told, neither Mavic nor Madison can supply a 36 hole xm719 rim any more. I'm struggling to believe it….but there seems to be no reason for misleading me.

Okay 36 hole may be a little uncommon, but come on, surely MAVIC aren't ceasing produciton of 36 hole rims….If they are then I'm going to have some nice hubs that will become useless in a short while.

Does anybody know a supplier that I can steer my wheel biulder to (BETD), that has 36 hole xm719s in the cupboard?

Or do I give up and go 32 hole? Maybe a should….this wheel biuld involves a new hub anyway….but I like the extra strength from 4 more spokes :o(

Madison aren't even listing a 36h according to thier b2b site.
Could be a genuine problem, took me about two months to get hold of some 819's as there was no available stock in europe at the time.
Might be worth having a chat with Amer sports-Mavic UK service centre

Just be aware it's only worth having 36 on the rear wheel. That's what I do….

Touring specialists are more likely to have them, SJS are showing stock of the non disk version.

I'm old fashioned probably….but I've 2 sets of wheels (717, dt comp, hope xc and ex721, dt comp, goldtec draco) biult 36 hole as to my mind 4 more spokes weigh next to nothing, increase the strength massively, make retruing a wheel after a problem easier, and make a single broken spoke at the start of an enduro nothing what-so-ever to worry about.

Using the same logic I was going for 36 hole again with this new wheel, and yes it is a rear.

hmm. I may need to rethink and go for 32…from my chat to BETD getting a 36 hole rim is an issue….maybe I should not make this problem worse by buying another 36 hole hub.

maybe i should start stocking up on 36 hole rims! Then again…I'm buying this new wheel because the hub finally died on an old wheel, not the rim.
