    hi all,

    anyone know a good stockist of vintage parts?

    i’m looking for a rim so i can rebuild my dad’s rear wheel on his 50 year old bike

    size is 26 x 1 1/4″
    40 spoke holes

    yeah retrobike.co.uk should help. they might point you to some site like firstflightbikes.com which is good to look at anyway. Loads of old bikes there and that guy has spares but hes stateside. Thereafter German ebay has more retro stuff than the UK so might be fruitfull.

    I think that size (597mm) is going to be very trick to get hold of – ebay is almost certainly your best bet.

    An alternative would be to look for a 590mm rim (26 x 1 3/8 in old money) – minimal size difference so shouldn’t mess up brakes etc. Probably still trick yto track down a 40 hole one, but easier than a 597mm one I’d have thought! 590mm is also known as 650A
