Weird Q i know but having been a teacher for the 10 working years of my life i have not got a clue where to look for a job!!

Main skills are IT related (not a specialist in anything tho) , project management type stuff i suppose, good interpersonal skills

Not really arsed as it will just be a JOB whilst i fathom out what i want to do career wise. teaching, i don’t think, is for me.

If you’re in teaching now I would stay there for a while because there is’nt that much about at the moment and it’s only going to get harder…

1. stick your CV on monster, jobsite and reed, tweak it weekly, you will only get responses from agencies but something might lead somewhere,
2. search jobcentre website, as some companies still use them, plus you are going to end up dealing directly with an employer rather than an agency,
3. local newspapers, yep some HR people are so backward they like to spend money a half a page in the local paper and not even post it on their own company websites,
4. find companies you want to work for and write to them weekly asking for a job, until they give you a job,
5. find a few specialist recruiters, online forums and business magazines in sector you want to work, check them regularly,

that’s about it,

i don’t know how to break this gently, but £1500 a month.. you will be lucky!!!

Speaking to an ex colleague earlier, company relocated beginning last year a number of people have been looking for work since, ie 12-13 months and have had to take much lower money than they were on just to get anything. Job market is crap unless you have exactly the skill the employer wants, even then there are probably a few others with exactly the same skill set after that job.

I know some will say recession is over and they have had no problem finding work, just going by my experience and that of those around me. IF you have a specific skill you may be ok, but no skill, no experience, forget it.
