Getting rather a large collection of bikes and getting through a ridiculous amount of gear cable.

Only ever bought outer gear cable as I have needed it in short lengths but could do with it on a roll like what a workshop would use. Can anyone point me in the direction to buy it like this?
I did happen to stubble across some listed on the planetX website. Think it was 30m for £20 which does sound very cheap but it was non descript stuff. Ideally after the standard shimano stuff or does it not really make much of a difference?
