    A (late friend) a Hurricane pilot that flew in Burma during WW2. He knew the pilot of the first and he gave me the A3 photograph of the first image. I’ve also got one of the same spit flying over Chepstow Castle.

    The Hurricane pilots name was Edward Sparkes and some of his stories can be found here and they are great reading…

    My grandad was a merchant seaman, racked up dozens of crossings of the north atlantic and a couple of convoys to Archangel. Through his stories I gained an affection for these things:
