Maxxis HRII 3c TR front, ardent TR rear. There are cracks between the knobs & tyre body on the front, and the side knobs on the rear are a bit shredded. Putting aside the obvious “replacement/upgrade is always justified”, is it time to replace – particularly the front, or are there miles left before they give up the ghost?

Anywhere from mildly rounded knobs to worn slick. If it’s just knobs starting to come off wait at least until a couple have fallen off completely.

Got a good couple of years in them yet in my book

Yeah I certainly wouldn’t be replacing them yet.

Ardent i’d keep running just think of it like you’ve now got an ardent race instead 🙂
HR2 i’m not so sure, those side knobs are the only grip when you lean it, if they are badly torn they aren’t providing support and just asking to wash out.

Stick the HR2 on the rear and get a new one for the front to replace it.

Replace the Ardent (with something decent?). The HR11 looks like it has
a bit of life left but they are deceptive I find, need replacing when they still look like they have plenty of tread left

My HR looked like that after one ride…seems they are made of cheese.

HR has some life left in it, IMO the Ardents had it, the side knobbles have lost their “squareness” so edge grip will be compromised.
