I use Shimano M540 pedals, which are pretty damn good. When I pull up on the pedals on the upstroke there has started to be a bit of ‘looseness’ – my shoe can lift up of the pedal (it still stays engaged) for a few milimetres. Is this a case for new cleats or replacement pedals? ta for any help.

New cleats should sort you out.

The pedal bodys do wear. New cleats (keep the old ones) will help but won’t be like new cleats and pedals

I keep winding in the spring tension to offset the wear
