Doesn’t surprise me, the current government are obsessed with spending cuts but utterly unwilling to deal with the lack of tax receipts that they have been receiving.

We’re subsiding corporations through welfare to pay shitty wages in zero hour contracts and yet at the same time those same corporations are dodging tax, meanwhile we have a ballooning pensioner demographic unable to work who’s healthcare costs are spiralling.

What we will do though is blame it all on the immigrants.

This cropped up on another thread. The guy is barking mad. French banks are hugely exposed to Russia and with a rapidly weakening domestic economy perhaps he’s just try to create a diversion. Hollande’s popularity/approval is at a record low for a president, 15% from memory. under the French system he cannot be kicked out, if it where possible he’d have been gone a while ago. He has reversed his policies and is starting to cut taxes and reduce government spending.

Not barking at all – the Autumn statement did not stack up and the election could result in market chaos – in the UK , yes France is in a mess – but
their advice has a basis in the global picture.
France may be in a long term decline but it is a steady process compared with the house of cards that our economy is based on.
