What’s the best route and way to get up there(by car) Dibbs?

Coming from Bridgwater and would rather start at LH or CPG but holford layby is probably the mose accessible one eh?

Snow round my way was just rock hard, got about 5 yards and gave up.

A couple of 4WD’s got to Great Wood car park while we where there, but I’d be tempted to head for Stowey and ride from there. To be honest though there’s not a lot of riding involved as the snow’s too deep everywere (granny ring DOWN Triscombe Coombe).
I doubt if you’ll get near LH till next week.

Ah so ss’ing is a bad idea???

I went up there for a walk today, it took about 3 hours to cover 5ish miles even without a bike handicapping me. From Holford up Holford Combe then Frog, then down Somerton and Hodders. I don’t think much was rideable, up near the tops of the combes and on the ridge there’s about 18 inches of snow, and well above knee level where it has drifted. Didn’t see another soul, only one set of footprints and absolutely no tyre tracks.

Here’s one for knottie from yesterday (Paradise Corner), the TOB riders wouldn’t have been so quick up there then. 🙂

Good to meet you today fella’s.
Very opportune meeting some other like minded souls.
Having been let down by my riding buddies from Bath/Bristol it was either a day with the in-laws in Taunton or a nice ride, ahem, on the Q’s.
If I’d been on my own it would have been no fun!

Around Bath, they managed a staggering 12 miles apparently!

Hats off to anyone actually riding rather than pushing some bikes around. This was Frog singletrack yesterday, didn’t seem to me like trying to ride it would be much fun. Lots of debris around in Hodder’s too, getting a bike round some of it would be an arse!
