Just noticed, from looking at my Forum Activity, that all threads over a year old have been closed to new posts. Is this a new occurrence? I guess it is reduce the number of Spam thread resurrections - if so, it's a good thing.

It might be to try and keep a lid on the number of old dead threads being revived by spambots

Yes, we've just started doing this, mainly as a reaction to spammers. The cutoff is currently set at one year from the date of the last post to the thread.
You can always ask the mods to reopen an old thread if you feel the need to post to it, as long as you're not a spammer.
