I was buying a bike for a sick relative (cancer) and their last week of riding for nearly a year.

Was hoping to ride all week with them but can’t as the bike hasn’t arrived.

I should have taken delivery last Friday and nobody (supplier) knows where the bike is.

Relative is in surgery on Tuesday and with physio lasting 6-18 months won’t be riding.

Not LBS fault but the supplier I do think is rubbish.

Would it be fair to ask for my deposit back and buy elsewhere.

I’m tempted to just pay for a feed the lions outing in case they don’t get through surgery.

Given the circumstances, I’d say yes.

I’m still going to wait for the bike and use the bike as a carrot maybe to speed up recovery.

I managed to buy a Boardman CX Team for my old man, quick build and it’ll be his first 30 miler and his last ride until he recovers from surgery from prostate cancer.
