I’m going to attempt to rebuild some old hubs onto new rims, only issue is they are straight pull and new rims have a different ERD.

Sooooo, Old rim is 542 ERD, new is 536mm, so if I measure the spokes on current rim and subtract 6mm that will be the correct spoke length ?

    Cheers.

    Nope

Your new rim is 6mm different over its diameter

Yur spoke only goes half way across it.

If you take 6mm off your spokes youll end up with spokes 3mm too short.

So, 3mm difference, would the existing spokes be OK, I guess that depends on how far they protrude through the rim ?

Without seeing it i couldnt comment but if they were factory built id guess at no. Teyntend to use the correct spoke lengths so there wont be much leeway

ta, new spokes make sense if going to the effort of building a new wheel.
