Now I have a clown bike coming 😀 I have a wheel dilema. I want a singlespeed wheel to stick on. I currently have a set of 26″ DT rims on hope pro 2 (rear is singlespeed hub), so should I strip them and build on to a new rim or would it be more cost effective to hunt down a new wheelset??

If you don’t want the 26 wheels anymore then get the hubs rebuilt

If you want an excuse to buy shiny bits don’t let us stop you

It’s more a costing question rather than an excuse for new stuff. Will it be cheaper to rebuild or just buy new (ie I could sell my old wheels).

JRA will build wheels with your old hubs if you want…

It’ll be marginal reusing the hubs.

Assume you get £140 for the old wheels.

New Hope wheelss are available for say £280. £140 for decent rims plus spokes is hard to do and then you don’t have new hubs and need to think about bearings etc.
