All of the above.
I'm a crap rider, but I still love it
Spending stupid amounts of cash on the one bike and then wondering why I am skint... Ah well. Oh, and not looking where I am going enough.
Apart form smoking and buying whole bikes, as Orangista. And singing really badly.
I'm caught in a rut,
I can't get out eee oooo eee ooo eee
I'm going too fast baby.
Why can't you see,
What'll happen to me,
When I hit the side.
I can't go on like this
In a flipping rut...
I'm sure you get the picture. I'm a mess!
I do the singing too, but just in my head, keeps my mind busy and helps me not think about the pain I'm enduring.
Supergrass 'Moving' is one of the usual ones in my head....
Unnecessary tyre purchases.
Obsessive bike cleaning.
Pie addiction.
Singing out loud: Rock Island Line today - kept me going for ages, that one.
Looking down rather than ahead. Hitting the brakes as soon as I see something that looks a bit scary instead of just rolling over it. Braking in corners.
refusing - mincing
fighting the bike , geting frustrated with the refusing-mincing
Doing gnarly 360 frontflips on my All Mountain Freeride Rig (tm).
This forum.
Committing fully to jump/drop/etc
Braking in berms
Farting in pedestrians faces.
Chatting to Switchbacks' clients when they are doing supergnarlcore trails and generally not 'concentrating enough'
Lots of loud and severe swearing when it gets a bit pear shaped. But probably worse is my inability to ride when anything's even slightly 'wrong' with the bike, my gear, my clothing, me, the trails, anything.
Braking through corners.
Not steering on loose/gravelly corners.
braking just before a jump or drop and then landing on my face
Hitting trees
Phil? Is hugging me your worst bike related habit?
yeah, apart from that i'm a superflyhighintheskyradtothepowerofawesome24/7 excellent rider....
as you well know.
Techincally not a bad habit either.
My worst bike related habit is going like a bat out of hell straight from the off, ever tasted blood in your lungs??
I'm working on having the fitness to back up this strategy, or simply make sure I have a good pace setter.
Getting lost in the moment and deciding that I have time for one more loop before going home and that "she" won't mind and will understand when I am late home for lunch/dinner/anniversary/wedding/etc.
Too many to mention, but a few are:
Dragging rear brake
Braking during cornering
Stiffening up when it goes a teeny bit wonky
Mincing in the wet
Not trusting my tyres to grip in corners
Leaving bikes and bits all over the house
Leaving riding gear, gloves, lights, helmet, shoes etc by the door.
Tyre-buzzing.
Agressive freewheling (Pro2s).
Just generally being a child.
bushwacked, yours definately is looking down
its not as bad as it was but you need to constantly think about doing it. it'll become unconcious action in time
Too much braking, Need to let the bike roll more,
Heels aren't down enough,
Screaming (mostly on the tandem),
Not looking ahead enough,
Going too slowly and must be more confident,
only putting my right foot down , so always falling to the left (daft I know).

Blowing my nose (finger on one nostril stylee) behind me without looking.
+1
Not so much of a problem on the MTB, but riding the Ronde you tend to hit lots of foreigners with your greenies......
Jamming the brakes on the second i see anything resemling or drop, jump or is just too steep.
Singing out loud,
Unclipping inside foot on bends and hanging a leg out, however on the same bend with flats feet stay firmly on the pedals.
Being to Cheerful
not cleaning bike after a ride untill 30 mins before the next and finding need new chain and brake pads.
Not having stock of chain or pads to go on the above ride.
Jedi - what is the most common bad habit you see?
I'll post what mind us after Jedi has told me on Monday
I guess looking at front wheel in times of stress...
Climbing into bed unwashed after a night ride topped off with a few beers!!
Dropping my tyre pressure to around 10psi to do very steep slimy steps then not pumping them back up again and getting a pinch puncher!! Must go tubeless
Jedi - I look forward to sorting it out
Postierich - that's minging!
Breaking the poor things. If there was a bike revolution tomorrow, I'd be the first against the wall.
Eating too much.
And grabbing the front brake.
I was right
