just been rummaging in the loft and i’ve come across a pair of sids that i’d totally forgot about.
they are 2001 sid sl,condition wise they are fine but they seem to be permanantley locked out, well they move about 1cm.
they are no good to me but i don’t want to flog ’em if the buyer is going to end up with a big rebuild bill.is it a simple fix?i don’t want to send ’em off for an expensive service if i’m only going to be selling them anyway
any help much appreciated as always
    cheers

With all the air out of the air chamber do you achieve full travel?

just gave it a go and yes, with quite a bit of effort they do move to the full travel.
    any ideas?
    thanks

My guess is if it’s taking a lot of effort to get full travel with no air in the chamber/s then you have hydroloc where the oil from the damper migrates into the fork lower and restricts travel.

a service should see them working as good as new.
