OK a tough one here: Overhead in a cafe, not a song I would say I particularly liked, but a bit of an ear worm.
The lyrics are sung quite quickly and quietly almost conversationally. Very low key with a male voice, but with a female joining in once or twice. English, but sounds slightly accented, to me there is almost an arabic feel to it, but that might be rubbish. But what is distinctive is an loud electronic chime which punctuates the song at the end of each couple of lines, ie every 5 seconds or so.
If we identify this one we aredoing well.

I had a mate who was a BBC researcher, folk used to phone in with such requests, or they’d whistle a piece of classical music that they’d heard on the box and want to know what it was.

His fave though – ‘Where is the cottage on Pauline Fowlers’ wall, and is it available for a holiday let?’… 😆

It sounded an awesome job tbh…

Excellent song which contains all the spanish I know, and with the addition of ‘no’ I can also say that I don’t like all this stuff.

Or perhaps it was:

Where the F is the OP to tell me I’ve got it?

Being an STWer it will be a really poncy cafe he’s in.
Now I’m allergic to establishments that don’t serve alcohol, but poncy cafe soundtracks have a lot of overlap with hip cocktail bars, of which I have great experience, and those sorts of digs love Manu Chao.

ETA: I type slow.

TBH, it was a pretty good description.

Even more so as it’s a very odd English.

Surprisingly not actually.
Run by a very down to earth Sicilian who makes cakes to die for & knows everyone by name.
Largely frequented by the local geriatric community.
His son acts as waiter and decides on the soundtrack.

I used to quite like that Gotye one until someone pointed out it had been ripped off from Baa Baa Black Sheep and now I can’t hear it without singing it over the top.
