I frequently drop the lowers off my forks to give them some TLC….

But I’ve just found this black plastic ring rattling around in my lowers. I’ve never seen it before which I find quite surprising/concerning.

What is it?

I assume I can just pop it back in where I think it came from…

Looks like a bump stop from the bottom of the lowers.

That was my first thought. Does anyone know if there is supposed to be one on each side?

I believe so yes. Push it back in and it should find its own place.

Yep. Bump stop. Use a spoke to get it in place, I use the elbow bend from the bottom to help seat it.
