Wouldn’t worry about weight, I’d be more concerned about puncture and general tomfoolery proofness as the last thing you want is a cold 4yr old while you fix a puncture or a split tyre

The Kenda 8 blocks are popular with the higher end 16″ kids bikes. They seem pretty light though they’re not mud tyres.
